How to reduce puffiness
Puffy eyes can be caused by different things, lack of sleep, too much sleep, water retention, allergies, food intolerances and even eye cream or face cream that is too heavy. However there are things that you can do to help reduce the under eye puffiness.
Lack of sleep:
Apply an eye gel that has been left in the fridge, the cooling sensation will help to reduce the swelling. Pat the gel on gently with our middle finger.
Place 2 slices of chilled cucumber, 1 over each eye, relax for 15 minutes.
Place 2 teabags in warm water, stir then remove. Allow the bags to cool and place one over each eye, relax for 15 minutes then remove.
Place a warm flannel over your eyes for 2 minutes then a cold one, this will help to give your circulation a boost.
Too much sleep:
Did you know that we don’t blink, fluid builds up in our eyelids, blinking can help to drain the fluid, so naturally fluid builds up in our sleep.
Try to sleep with your head slightly elevated, this will help to drain some of the excess fluid
Heavy night cream:
Try switching to a lighter night cream, but if you really need something heavy, apply it sparingly, pat it on with your middle finger.
Water retention:
We all suffer with it at some point, even men.
Try to avoid salty snacks, don’t put extra salt on your meals.
Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Try and avoid caffeine.
Food intolerances:
The two most common food intolerances are wheat and dairy, try cutting down on dairy (or cut it out completely) If the puffiness reduces after about a week. If that doesn’t work, try cutting out wheat for the same amount of time.
If the puffiness does not reduce with any of these tactics, consult your doctor.

This the first time I know that too much sleep prevetns water draining in the eye. Helpful tips. I will do the cucumber thing tonight as I don't sleep enough these days :)
I suggest blepharoplasty as complete solution. What does other people think? Are home remedies helpful?
Hold ice on lids long as you can It works.Rub a lot of pond cold cream on face ..hold ice on long as you can..then wash off ..Skin looks flawless
Good tips for dealing with puffy eyelids that I will certainly check out further. I'm pretty sure that wheat is not a good thing for me, and I know that dairy isn't. Thanks for another great instructive hub!
